    Telfa AMD Antimicrobial Non-adherent Dressing from HealthyKin.com is impregnated with PHMB (Polyhexamethylene Biguanide), a powerful yet safe antiseptic that has a broad range effectiveness against gram positive and gram negative microorganisms including some multi-drug resistant strains such as MRSA.       This telfa pad is great. Had problems with other pads that don't have anti microbials, becoming infected. No such problem with this. Does however create more moisture than I waned, some maceration.

      Wound care nurse wanted me to leave my healing puncture wound open because of reactions to most chemicals, however this was impossible if I had to wear socks & shoes. These dressings kept it moist with no problem of infection developing.

      This dressing is excellent for long term wounds which can become colonized with multibacterial drug resistant bacteria. Sadly, long term wounds can easily develop these multibacterial infections. The exudate from these infection preads the infection wo it is important to absorb that exudate, But most noremal dressings provide and excellent mbedium for these infections to colonize, Which of course aggravates the problem. The antiinfective in this dressing is very effective for a broad range of otherwise resistant bacteria.
