Great for us so why not DOGS? This has worked great for me and other. I was a RN in home health & did daily wound care. When my dog had buts & wounds on her front paw she kept bite gently them...wouldn’t heal. Dog ripped off dressings as itchy. I though of Xeroform to maintain healing environment, not needing changed constantly, & no itching. I was shocked that in 3 days the wounds were all closed and 90% healed. This RN has used this on people & now a dog...to my (and their) 100% satisfaction!!! Try this & you will start to keep some in your medicine cabinet.

OMG this really came in handy!!! It is for people but my dog had nasty bites on her leg from another dog & it must have been itchy because she kept licking and chewing it, making it worse and preventing healing. She was on antibiotics but still kept it open. It was leaking fluid but not enough for a duaderm dressing. I found this Xeroform impregnated gauze that had plenty of space for air and for absorption but it also was impregnated with a petroleum jelly like substance that allowed me to not change the dressing for 3 days. It was covered with just Xeroform and gauze and elastic wrap. The Xeroform kept it from itching & when I removed it, 3 days later, I was thrilled to see a nicely healed wound with perfectly colored skin. This stuff absorbed the light exude while providing the correct moisture for healing WITH NO ITCHING. Naturally this would do the same for a human.
