Smith and Nephew Iodosorb Cadexomer Iodine Gel from HealthyKin.com is a sterile formulation of Cadexomer Iodine. When applied to the wound, Iodosorb cleans it by absorbing fluids, removing exudate, slough and debris and forming a gel over the wound surface. As the gel absorbs exudate, iodine is released, killing bacteria and changing color as the iodine is used up. A 3-in-1 mode of action kills bacteria, manages exudate and debrides the wound bed.

    Iodosorb Cadexomer Iodine Gel Features:

    • Exudate and debris is removed effectively
    • Iodosorb helps to promote a clean wound healing environment
    • A change in color (white) indicates when Iodosorb should be changed
    • Gel formed over the wound promotes moist healing
    • Accelerated healing rates can lead to earlier patient discharges
    • 2½ to 3 year shelf life, even if opened
    • 1.4oz (40g) tube
    Iodosorb Cadexomer Iodine Gel Instructions:
    • Open tube and squeeze gel on to a non-adherent gauze to the shape of the ulcer and to a depth of 3 to 4 mm
    • Position the gel face of the gauze on the wound surface and apply mild pressure to fix in place
    • Gently take off the existing dressing which should be moistened with saline if it is tending to adhere to the wound surface
    • Remove any remaining Iodosorb with a gentle stream of saline or sterile water if applicable
    • Gently blot away any excess fluid before re-applying Iodosorb

Very expensive cream, but it's the one that works. Protects and heals, slowly, the most dangerous wounds - the ones with deep cores. Glad to have found this site as a purchase resource.

I had a hard time finding this when my doctor said I needed it to help heal a wound. It seems to be helping but, nothing dramatic. Seems overpriced for what it does.

My podiatrist prescribed Iodosorb for me to treat an ulcer on my big toe, unfortunately I was unable to obtain it from my pharmacy. I found that no one locally stocked it as its cost was about $40.00 for a 4 oz. tube. I got a package of four for about $69.00 including shipping. A very good deal. Thank you.

Iodosorb was recommended by doctor to my husband for a venous stasis ulcer on his ankle. It was $140 at the Walmart pharmacy. We were only able to purchase it because of the excellent pricing at Healthy Kin. Also, delivery was amazing! It arrived within 36 hours of online order and that was with regular, not expedited, shipping. Thank you.
