    When you receive the stool there is a warning not to use the stool on slippery surfaces. I wish I knew this in advance. Such as tile and other flooring. The rubber grip at the corner of the step is the size of a pencil eraser diameter. There are other rubber strips that are very thin. Even driveways or parking lots that have a sealant can be slippery. We modified the step to add better grips to ensure the step does not slide when we climb in out of our SUV and other vehicles.

    I use this to get in the van after a stroke. I was having trouble with the way I was taught to get in. Still had spasticity in my leg so while I was using my good leg to push up in the door frame, the one I was still standing on was sliding out from under me. I can use this by myself. My daughter drilled a hole in 1 side to insert the end of a rope and knot it, then tied the other end to the headrest. Long enough rope to use it on either side of the car. I am able to back up to it with the walker and step up backwards. Sets it up so I'm ready to sit in the seat. Just have to be careful to find a level spot.

    Great step, enables me to get in our new SUV. I put a string on it ( has to be very thin or flat to fold into the handle) and pull it in after me. Very fast ship, like one day.

    Purchased this stool to help my handicapped sister get into our SUV. It is easy to use, stores easily and is the right size and light weight. It missed out on 5 stars because it does not grip the pavement well causing it to slip if the user tries to push on it with their foot to improve their entry position. Someone else must stand by and push firmly down on the stool to keep it from slipping out from under the user. This is especially problematic on wet surfaces.
